I have never had Nepalese food before and this was a very good experience getting into it! The dishes are incredible and looked beautiful. The decor and atmosphere were all on point. The staff were very helpful in providing info about each menu item. My wife and I had the momos dumplings and they were awesome. We also had the rasmalai for dessert and it was very yummy. Overall, if you're looking for a novel experience or even just good food, definitely stop in here. Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian dishes Parking: Adequate amount of parking Dietary restrictions: Some lactose free options
RAVE to Aama Nepalese Restaurant in Heritage Hills. Booked for my hubbys birthday meal, was not disappointed. Everything is made fresh to order. The food is absolutely delicious, the restaurant is gorgeous, and yes I had heard the tiles in the washrooms were pretty so I checked them out.. they are!! The staff are amazing, they’re polite, friendly and hard working. Will definitely be going back. Oh and for us it was in walking distance and the view home was the sunset setting over the mountains. Perfect end to the evening Vegetarian options: Me and my hubby are vegetarian and there were options for appetizers all the way through to the mains. Amazing because that’s where we usually struggle Parking: Huge car park, will never be an issue Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible for people in wheelchairs including the washrooms
Absolutely 5 star. The food is so amazing. We will definitely be regulars. The staff are very friendly and attentive and we were all well fed. The ambiance of the restaurant is wonderful. Chairs were comfortable. Food was affordable enough and so delicious. My favorite was the yak stew. Vegetarian options: The vegetarian dishes were splendid and I'm not even vegetarian. Parking: Plenty of parking.
TLDR; Just go! Great new Himalayan restaurant! Lots of vegetarian options and excellent flavors! I went a little overboard and ordered half of the vegetarian options but it was worth it! The Momos were awesome, kids loved the spiced fries and spring rolls, Tarua veggie fritters were great, the special roasted eggplant tasted amazing with the naan style bread and I loved the spiced roasted soy beans soon to be on the menu. The home made ice tea was awesome, everyone loved it. Lastly we all were fighting over who got to drink the last of the spiced tea, WITH BUTTER! Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu and dessert!
Do not let the exterior deter you. I thought this place was very good, great Mom and pop shop vs all the franchises in town. If you are afraid to try Nepalese cuisine there is something for everyone here, momo for sure is that something. Some of their main dishes are very contemporary, probably what you'd get at a high end premium restaurant in Calgary. Go out of your way to visit this place, it's worth the commute. Do yourself a favour a try something different. There is probably a reason the reviews are high.
We enjoyed a delicious Sunday brunch here. The food was absolutely amazing, my favourite was definitely the Chicken Momos and the Aama’s Crispy Chicken Burger!! If your in Cochrane, definitely check out this Nepalese spot out, you will not be disappointed. The service was super friendly as well.
Went to Aama today and was very impressed with the quality of service, food and atmosphere. Restaurant is a cozy and well-decorated space with friendly staff and a relaxed vibe. We tried multiple meals including Yak stew, Tandoori Goat Momos, Pork Sausage and Chicken Chow Mein. Everything was made with good quality ingredients and had great flavor profiles. The hand made iced tea and hot Chai tea with butter were delicious to have with our meal. Will be back, thanks again!!
Had an amazing evening trying a few dishes by Chef G. The Momo's were delicious and the butter tea was perfect for the cold weather. Can't wait to try the Thali next time. Great atmosphere, decor and spectacular food. If you are looking for an authentic home cooked meal or date spot, I would highly recommend Aama! Pictured here is the fall-off-the-bone braised yak short rib and mom's warm sweet rice pudding.
I like this place so much. This place is very clean and neat. The food was very delicious. I've never tasted Nepalese food before. This restaurant's food was very good to know what authentic Nepalese food is. Also, the server and the owner were very friendly. They asked me that if I want to more rice.more rice is for free I would visit this restaurant again when I visit Okotox
This was by far one of the most incredible meals of my life. The flavours were so thoughtfully created, and truly authentic! We learned the chef learned many of his recipes from his family in Nepal! Everything from scratch and made with such attention to detail, and beautifully presented! The ambiance and decor here is also stunning, and yet so warm and friendly. Truly a magical experience and a gem of a find! Dietary restrictions: They were extremely accommodating with my dairy and gluten allergies.
