We had dinner at Aalto on its opening night in July, while on our 5 week Canadian holiday. It was quite easily the best meal we had had. The food was sensational, the atmosphere of the restaurant was just lovely and the views over the lake from our table topped it off. We followed it up with breakfast the next morning as well. Can’t recommend this place enough!
We visited on our 10th anniversary. The service was excellent; Karlie, our waitress, was attentive, friendly, and had superb recommendations. We sat out on the deck overlooking Pyramid Lake; the quiet subalpine atmosphere was lightly accompanied by a soft jazz from the restaurant, all of which enhanced the whole dining experience. As for the food itself, the chef has outdone himself. We had the Humboldt squid as a starter; every flavour on the plate worked together to elevate the squid to greater heights. The cocktails were expertly designed, neither too weak nor too stiff for an opening beverage. My main course the duck arrived, and it was an absolute delight; perhaps the finest duck breast I have ever had. My wife enjoyed the mushrooms and buckwheat, describing it as "delightful." My wine pairing, based upon Karlie's recommendation, worked brilliantly with the duck. We finished off the meal with two liquid desserts, both of which were, again, tailored and balanced to perfection. From the service, through atmosphere, and the food, every aspect of our meal at Aalto was a joy to experience. I highly recommend the restaurant to anyone who wishes to partake in a fine dining experience by the silent grandeur of Pyramid Lake.

This place has a breathtaking view and a tranquil atmosphere. When I got my Alberta beef burger , patty was almost burned as black, like charcoal. It was served again and I didn't think the taste was as good as I had expected. I wished there were some fresh green vegetables and less cheese to get the real taste of this high-quality Alberta beef burger.
My husband and I stayed at Pyramid Lodge and ate at the Pines. Oh my gosh, from the moment we walked in we knew we were in for a treat. Top class food and an above and beyond service. Best meal we have had in ages...my partridge was delicious!! The waitress was so lovely, professional, informed and just the right balance. Wish I could mention her by name. An absolute great experience! Came to the pines before a dark sky tour. I was expecting a nice dinner but they really went above and beyond. Everything is presented beautifully and the servers provide great recommendations. The food also speaks for itself. Every bite was amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone. I went at night so wasn’t able to get the view but if I could go back. I would try for a earlier dinner to get the view of pyramid lake.
What a hidden gem. This beautiful little oasis is only a 10 minute drive from Jasper. Tucked away and surrounded by trees, mountains and a beautiful lake! We were seated in-side, against a window lined wall where we enjoyed the view over our 5 course dinner! The dinner was lovely! We also opted for the wine pairing! So with it! All the dishes will well presented and very tasty! Top items for us were the Herb House Focaccia with MAPLE butter! And the Albert Bison! Both mouthwatering, delicate, flavourful dishes!! Service was also excellent, Andrea was very attentive and kept with the rhythm of the meal very well! Mark the bartender was lovely! Popped over to chat about Sherry! Overall a great experience! Would go back, certainly!!!
Went here for a special dinner, The Stargazers' dinner... It was DELICIOUS. Well done!!! Drinks menu was also lovely. LOVED our dining experience here, particularly when drinking the Old Fashion Babe with smoke!!! You MUST try it!!!
