My wife and I were in Cheboygan with four other family members in early April 2023. We were looking for a place to eat and came across The Station @ 310. The restaurant, located in downtown Indian River, apparently is an old train depot circa 1882. The building has been nicely renovated and there were quite a few items that appealed to all of us. Their menu specialties are sandwiches and burgers, many with smoked pork or smoked brisket. They also offer a cod sandwich, a grilled chicken sandwich, and a vegan-option burger. Between the six of us, we ordered several different entrees and all were very tasty. The prices were pretty standard for a bar and grill establishment. We were here at 4:30 on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was not very busy, so I cannot say what the service is like when it is busy, however, our waitress was polite and checked to make sure our food had been prepared to our liking. We would definitely eat here again if we are in the area.
We didn’t read reviews before stopping at the Station@310, hubbs was rushing me so I picked the most interesting sounding restaurant in Indian River. I couldn’t have made a better choice if I had planned it. The Station is decorated really, really cool. I absolutely love the train theme! Not only is it decorated in the train theme, but the menu offerings are train theme too!! We were seated immediately! Ok, to be honest, they had just opened for the day, so it was wide open and picked where we wanted to sit. Menus and drinks came right away. They serve Michigan made cola-Birks- which is really good. I like that they are loyal to a Michigan Soda company!! Lunch came to the table really fast, and let me tell you it looked amazing!! Hubbs got the Chattanooga Choo Choo which is a breakfast burger. He was in heaven because it came with sausage biscuits and gravy which he said was really good! His burger looked and tasted amazing too! I got the Rock Island TX which is a brisket tip sandwich on a brioche bun. I savored every moment of that sandwich!! The service was rock solid, we had immediate attention and they made sure we had everything we needed and the food was to our liking. Very very happy with our visit today. They also have tshirts for sale and I couldn’t resist getting one! I read some of the other reviews while we were there and can’t support any of the negative reviews for the food, the staff or the building. In fact, we agreed this is a restaurant that we will be making a stop when we head up to the bridge!
I’ll be honest, after reading reviews from last summer, we were hesitant to try out The Station but I’M SO GLAD WE DID! The food was amazing, great service, and we loved the train station decor. Very cozy, fun atmosphere. Wish we lived closer, we’d eat here all the time. And no… they do not serve food on Dixie plates. They must have made some recent changes.
Every visit I've had since new ownership & grand opening has been fantastic. Staff are wonderful & attentive ... not at a wait station on their phones. Food consistently good! Very clean & great vibe. We have needed another good restaurant in Indian River. Can't wait to see what you do with the Inn Between or what you chiose as it's new name.
Great place! New owners have done a great job! It’s only been open for a few months now. I’ve only had great food, drinks and service since! The smoked wings are awesome! Lots of meat and crispy! I’m so happy to to have this restaurant in our town! Great friendly atmosphere too! I just love going here!
I was pretty bummed to have so may cons to this place… Cons: Patio decor uncovered outside area - see pics Burger I think it was the train wreck- only saw one little piece of onion Sweet potatoe fries were over cooked and had very little flavor The water, for me, was not drinkable worst well water I’ve tasted in a long time Chardonnay was warm No beer on tap Pretty slow service but this is more common these days… Pros: Nice server Inside is a pretty cool old rail station Covered outside area is decent and might be worth coming back to for live music Burger was large and good just lacked enough toppings that were supposed to be on it
Service was great. Food was very fast and extremely delicious! Hot and good portions! All staff was extremely kind and took the time to chat with us for a few minutes and feel welcome! Highly recommend and will be going again soon! New owners are definitely making this place amazing!
Wait staff was friendly, but they were short handed. Food was okay, but they were out of many items. The outdoor seating is pet friendly, which is always a bonus. They were doing construction outside during dinner service 5-7pm which was very disappointing as it was noisy and messy.
New ownership. The food is great!! It is beautiful inside and staff are friendly. Will definitely be coming back.
My friend and I visited Indian River over the past weekend to do some ice fishing. We asked a local where we could get some good food. He suggested The Station as it had relatively new ownership and he had enjoyed his previous visit. It did not disappoint. We ate two lunches and a dinner there over the weekend. Had outstanding service and the food was top notch. Even with a full house of snowmobilers, the service was prompt and the food delicious. Shout-out to our favorite waitress/bartender "Ashley". She was an absolute delight. We'll be back if we're anywhere close....
