Absolutely beautiful scenery. First visit I took here was late summer. Absolutely gorgeous. Very unique from anywhere I've been. Lovely trails to venture through and take in all of the waterways, trees large rocks and nature in all of its natural bliss. I will visit again for sure!
Sweet rapids Low level rapids are fun to take with a kayak. Check the water level as it can get too low to paddle. If low, recommend launching kayak after the rapids. Go with the flow to Rapide Croche. Note the dam is on the right. Stay left to portage lock for Wrightstown. Amazing Nature Center with so much to see and learn. Trails along the Fox River are great for a hike.‍ Playground for the kids. Parking available. Restrooms available. Cool place to enjoy nature, relax‍‍‍‍ and have fun!
Good place for a trail..yet to explore the lower part called "upper woods" . However finished the black loop trail followed by the hoersch trail. Hoersch trail seemed to be less explored. If u do so, do not miss to go to the far end and experience the quiet view point by sitting on the bench top of the hill ....Quite lonely though...
It's so beautiful here. I love just sitting by the water and doing work on my computer, watching all the animals. The trails are kept up and clean, they go right through the water as some are built with bridges and boardwalks. It's so calming and perfect place for a hike and pictures. There's different outlook piers where you can sit and take in the beauty of the Fox River. In highly recommend this to everyone. Good for family as well. Real little kids you'll want to keep close if the water is high along the bridges and boardwalks there's no sides or railings. Overall this is 1 of my favorite places to visit in Wisconsin.
Awesome nature center to go for walks. Good trails along the water. And a nature center building with cool things to see inside.
The learning center at 1000 islands has a lot of hands on and interactive displays for kids and adults. The location of the trails right next to the Fox river creates a wonderful backdrop to a great hike. Some of the boardwalk was a little wobbly but otherwise it is kept up very well. I very much enjoyed myself here. Take time to sit and watch the wildlife! The goats are here eating the invasive plants in the spring and fall!
This place is mine and my finances favorite place to visit. Very peaceful and definitely a place to meditate. The further you walk on the trails it feels almost as if you're in a whole nother world in some kinda fairytale. I love how beautiful it is.
Great trails, scenery, and right along the Fox River!
Well maintained with helpful staff. We visited today with my daughter's 3k class, but also enjoy year long as a family.
We've only been here in the winter, so I can't really comment on the condition of everything. But it seems like a nice park. Lots of birds and pretty scenery. And quite a bit of a trail to hike along. Planning to come back in the spring or summer this year to take it all in.
