Went in with severe low back pain I couldn’t even walk. Was treated warmly at reception, then immediately triaged by a kind nurse. During my short wait to see the doctor, the nurses were kind and empathetic. The doctor was so warm and nice, and his treatment provided immediate relief to my pain. Overall, I felt better treated here than in the Lower Mainland ER I’ve been to.
Understaffed Dr PJ is pretty darn good wouldn't want to try to have a baby there..nnI call it hit and miss.. certainly wouldn't call it the determinant point of care in case of an emergency.. go to Williams Lake or Kamloops or Vancouver.. there is a lab though!
The nurses in emergency will not talk to you after 730pm unless you press a button. There is a sign with instructions on were to go and it never mentions a button. The nurse said the lack of clear instructions and the fact i waited an hour and a half befor the cleaning lady showed me the hidden button didnt matter because i only have an ear infection. The guy that walked in at the same time as me left befor i even seen a nurse. Other than the hidden button the doctor was pleasent and sorted me out quick.
Came in at 4am as a type 1 Diabetic who ran out of insulin.nWithin 15 minutes of walking in the door I was walking out with a new bottle of insulin.nWords cannot describe how grateful I was.nHospitals in Vancouver and Kelowna have NEVER been able to do anything that quick.nBoth the girl at the entrance aswell as the doctor were both extremely friendly.
Such a horrible experience, slow, unfriendly, no staff, patients wandering around because there is no direction, waiting hours just for IV antibiotics for a severe allergic reaction and infection shouldn’t be pushed back.. seriously need training. They lack complete understanding of the health care system and how to triage. The lack of efficiency for healthcare providers was disgusting. Avoid if you want to live..
